Autodrom Most Hosts WorldSBK Round Five
The fifth round of the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship will take place at the Autodrom Most in Czechia this coming weekend, with bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team (BbKRT) riders Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani preparing to race their KB998 Rimini machines there for the second time.
In the second season of the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team project, both Alex and Axel posted early-season podium results at Phillip Island and currently sit fifth and ninth respectively in the championship standings.
A closely packed ‘midfield’ section of the current championship top ten sees a gap of only 18 points separating the rider in fourth place from Axel in ninth, after four rounds and 12 individual races have been completed.
The next round, at the sinuous 4.212km-long hillside venue of Autodrom Most in the far north-west of Czechia, is a known quantity for both BbKRT riders and their machines. The single best BbKRT race results at Most in 2025 were a fourth for Alex and a sixth for Axel.
Autodrom Most packs fully 21 corners or curves into its relatively short 4.212km length, as the track hugs the side of a hill overlooking the town of Most itself. A vast array of corner types, from the very slow first right/left chicane to the bigger sweepers and curves on the ‘return’ half of the lap, are to be found at Most, which combines both traditional and more contemporary aspects in its overall design.
Autodrom Most finds itself right in the middle of a run of five alternating WorldSBK race meetings - with a weekend off between each of the Assen, Balaton, Most, Aragon, and Misano rounds - during this relatively busy part of the overall 2026 calendar.
The Most weekend itself starts for real on Friday 15 May, with two Free Practice sessions for the WorldSBK contestants. Saturday 16 May features a short FP3 session, Superpole Qualifying, and then a 19-lap Race One. Sunday will feature the traditional ten-lap Superpole Race and then a second and final 19-lap Race Two.
After Most, the Motorland Aragon circuit, located in the north-east of Spain, will form round six of the WorldSBK championship, between 29-31 May.
Alex Lowes stated: “I am looking forward to Most, and it has a different layout again compared to the last few rounds. Last year we were strong in sector two of the circuit and especially in sector three. Our focus on Friday will be to improve in sector four, so that we can be more competitive there. I am looking forward to getting work on Friday. As always, we will work hard, enjoy it, and see if we can get close to that fight for the podiums.”
Axel Bassani stated: “Autodrom Most is a really difficult track with lots of corners. It is important to find your rhythm from the first chicane to the end because you have a lot of corners that make up different sectors of the track, so it is important to be precise. At the last round in Hungary, it was honestly not bad. We had speed but had quite a bad Superpole. As we all know, starting the races near the back is difficult. But, we had the speed and because of that, we believe we can do a good job in Most. We will see what happens, but I am positive and we will push.”
